She has been sneaking in and out of the kitchen for almost a month, and each time she burged in, she brought more havoc with her. Broken pans, pots, cuttlery all over the place. Not to mention all the crushed ice from the ice box. A mess! Slowly, almost effortlessly, he picked one of the kitchen knives and hid behind the big brass door. Now, he felt, was the perfect time to settle old scores. Footsteps down the corridor startled him; an ethereal, almost unearthly cadence appropriated by a robust figure. 'Do not even think about it Edgar!' his wife's expression read as clear as daylight.
